Part One... Page Three

Billem devotes every Thursday to the examination and discussion of the firm with Bodget and is always sure that the right deal is around the corner. So each week Arnold gets to sit in Billem's huge and luxurious office and a secretary makes the tea. On a good week even biscuits are delivered with the tea! (Arnold is by far the least "qualified" in the firm and therefore whilst "on site" He makes the tea!)

So Terry works Thursdays for cash in hand with the firm safe in the knowledge that Mr Bodget is having his moral propped up by Billem and won't be checking up on anybody for the day. "Works" is a deceptive word for what Terry really does is "attends" and passes the time mulling around the site office making all his phone calls for the week! The men stop for long tea breaks on a Thursday which gives Terry the chance to make constant minor references to the ins and outs of who is cheating who, How and when! The workers here are as you will have realised wise men indeed and all of them have a clear view of a cushy career.

Random damage to buildings is a daily occurrence so work is always available and the future is rosy. Just so long as Terry keeps his comments away from Bodget and Billem company directors. When Friday morning comes along the men tell Mr Bodget how helpful and hardworking Terry is, And Terry in turn tells his old man how skilled and conscientious the site workers are! Everybody is happy for another week.

(Did I mention how the Customers do not impinge on such equations? (Yes I believe I did.))
